FOR STUDENTS

Individual Lease

Individual leasing means peace of mind for you. Your financial responsibility is only for your student’s space unlike many apartments or rental houses where a joint lease is signed. If a roommate transfers to another school or moves out of Unite Student Living for any reason, you do not have to worry about having to cover their portion of rent. This is just another reason why Unite is your student’s best housing option!

On-site Professional Staff

Our maintenance staff will respond to your student’s maintenance issues quickly and professionally. Unite Student Living offers 24-hour emergency maintenance as well so that your student’s comfort is not affected.

Floor Plan Offerings

Unite Student Living has spacious floor plan options so they will easily be able to find one to suit their needs. We have one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom fully-furnished apartment homes, thoughtfully designed to complement the student experience.

What if I don't have a guarantor?

No worries at all! Unite Student Living has you covered with the LEAP’s Guarantor Waiver Program. If you're unable to secure an approved guarantor within 7 days of applying, you can opt for the Leap Guarantor Waiver program. In this case, a monthly charge of $55 will apply for this service. Feel free to CLICK HERE to apply or reach out to our office for more details.

Resident Events to Keep Students Involved

While the main focus of your student’s college career will be about graduating and getting a fulfilling job, they also need to have fun along the way. At Unite Student Living, your student will create life-long relationships and connections that will make them even more successful. Our great staff plans monthly resident events to get them involved. These events range from pizza parties to karaoke nights, from resume building classes to gaming tournaments. We will also keep our residents connected to events going on at the University of Utah as well as events happening around town so they don’t miss anything! We want your student to succeed, and that’s why we thought of them while designing Unite SLC as a Living-Learning environment!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does it mean to have an individual lease?

Individual leasing means that each person is only responsible for their portion of the common areas and their bedroom. If your roommate ends up not coming back for the Spring semester, you’re not responsible for their payment.

Do you have a roommate matching system?

Certainly! Our housing facility provides a roommate matching system. If you haven't already chosen a preferred roommate, we can assist you in finding a compatible match. You'll be asked a series of questions during the application, providing details about your preferences. Subsequently, during the summer, we invest weeks in analyzing this information to identify the most suitable roommate match for you!

Do you allow pets?

Absolutely! We're all for furry friends and positive vibes in our college student community! Please call the office for more details.

What is included in the rent?

Unite Student Living rent includes: Water, sewer, washer & dryer, access to all amenities, and a wonderful staff that is there to help you anytime you need them.

What furniture is provided?

Unite Student Living comes fully equipped with energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances, a designer furniture package that includes a couch, coffee table, and media console, a washer & dryer, and all bedrooms are fully furnished including a full XL-size bed, desks, a chair, and drawers. (Select units will also include a chair, barstools, and a kitchen island)

How do I receive mail and packages?

Your mail will be delivered to your apartment’s mailbox located on property. Packages will be delivered using our package locker system so you can retrieve your packages anytime day or night.

Is there insurance coverage in the event of a fire, theft or natural causes? Does my lease provide coverage for my belongings?

Unite Student Living insurance will not cover your personal belongings. We suggest getting renter’s insurance for this reason. It is generally inexpensive and will cover your personal belongings if something were to happen.

What if I need to break my lease or don't return for the spring semester?

Unite Student Living's lease is binding and cannot be broken. If you cannot live at Unite Student Living after signing your lease, you will need to re-let. Please call the leasing office for information on re-letting.

When is rent due?

Rent is due on or before the 1st of each month. The rental payments will be divided into 12 equal installments, with the initial installment scheduled for payment on August 1st. If your installment is not paid in full by the 5th of each month, late fees will apply.

How do I pay my rent?

The most convenient way to pay rent is through our resident portal. You can even set up automatic payments each month so you never have to worry about late fees! If you prefer to pay in person, we accept personal checks, cashier checks or money orders.

What if I need maintenance in my bedroom or apartment?

You can easily submit a maintenance request through the resident portal or you can swing by the front desk to discuss your matter in person with an office member.

What do I need to bring to my new apartment?

For a comfortable move-in experience, we recommend bringing the following items to your new apartment:

  • Full-Size XL bedding
  • Toiletries
  • Dishes and cookware
  • Decorations

These essentials will help make your new space feel like home. If you have any specific questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask!
