Move-In Day Details

• Ensure that your items are packed securely in boxes or containers that are easy to carry. Well-packed items allow you and our volunteers to move all of your items quickly and efficiently to your room. Do not pack your belongings in garbage bags.
• Clearly mark all of your items with your first and last name to ensure your belongings are directed properly.
• Don’t pack things in alcohol or liquor boxes.
• Do not bring family pets with you.
• Once you get your housemate assignment, contact them and discuss what large items each of you are planning to bring to campus. This way you can avoid overcrowding the common space and having duplicate items!
• PLEASE NOTE: At no time may you leave your car unattended in an unauthorized area of the property. This includes any area of the property that is not a clearly marked parking stall

• A dolly or a wagon to wheel your belongings.
• Personal Identification (state ID and/or passport)
• Linens, pillows, and mattress cover (all beds at The Citizen are a are Full Size)
• Toiletries and towels
• A shower curtain. The shower rod is provided.
• Bedroom Wastebasket and trash bags
• Computer/Electronics/Headphones
• Alarm clock
• Backpack/School Supplies
• Clothes hangers
• Laundry bag/basket and detergent
• Health insurance card/Other important cards you may need
• Personal emergency preparedness kit (flashlight, water, first-aid materials, batteries, etc.)

Additional Mis. 

• Additional reading/desk lamp (halogen lamps are not permitted)
• Throw rug(s)
• Decorations to help make your room/unit your home
• Small clothes iron
• Mattress pad & Protector
• Bicycle and high-quality U-lock for bicycle safety and for theft purposes. (Secure access Bike storage located in building). 
• Ski & Snowboard gear! (We have Ski Storage!) 
• Umbrella
• Personal safe or lock box

+ Anything else you might need! 

• Candles/Incents/Oil Burners
• Alcohol of any form, our property has no tolerance for alcohol no matter your age (of drinking age).
• Illegal or Abused Drugs/Substances of any kind are not prohibited on property grounds. 
• Cigarettes/Cigars/E-cigarettes are not permitted on property grounds.
• Weapons and simulated weapons (for example, firearms, knives, Swiss Army knives, pellet guns, paintball guns, machetes, firecrackers, and cap guns). Weapons are not permitted on property grounds.
• Gas-Powered Equipment -Barbeque Grills
• Unauthorized pets - We are pet friendly but all animals must be documented on your lease. Any violations of these rules will result in fines. 
• LED Lights - We dot not recommend  these lights as they cause unnecessary damage. If you are found with LED Lights you will be subject to damage charges at move-out. 

• Each subsequent installment is due on the 1st of every month. Your installment is considered late after the 1st of each month and you will receive a late fee if paid after midnight on the 5th resulting in an automatic $75 late fee per your lease.
• Your installment should be paid through your resident portal mobile app or website. 
• Alternatively, it can be paid in person by check, cashier’s check, or money order. Cash is not accepted.

When will I find out my unit #?

• Unit assignments will be given at key-pickup. 

Am I close to my roommates?  

• Roommate groups have been places in close proximity on each floor together.

When can I move in?  

• You may schedule your key-pickup / Move-in time by clicking the button listed above that says "Schedule my Key pick-up | Click here".

Is my temporary apartment furnished? 

• Yes, our units both at The Citizen during our temporary stay, and Unite are furnished.
